Cooperative Education
Cooperative education is something that requires our attention and our commitment on a regular basis, not just once or every now and then. It is a long-accepted maxim among cooperators that without cooperative education the average life span of a cooperative is about a generation and a half.
As today’s business climate increases in complexity, the challenges facing cooperative directors and employees become even greater. Decisions are far more difficult and more costly. Continuing education plays an increasingly important role in assuring that the cooperative operates effectively in serving members’ needs now and in the future.

Leadership Luncheon Series (Virtual)
Our 2026 Leadership Luncheon Series will include two virtual programs on December 9 and 16, 2026 respectively from 12:00noon-1:00pm CT each date. Check back for more information.
Director Certification Program
Offered in four phases, the Nebraska Cooperative Council’s Director Certification Program provides cooperative directors with essential knowledge and tools to effectively govern and lead their organizations. The program enhances directors’ understanding of director roles, and fiduciary and legal responsibilities, cooperative principles, financial oversight, and strategic decision-making. By participating, directors strengthen their leadership skills, stay informed about current industry challenges, and contribute to the long-term success and integrity of their cooperative. DCP is conducted annually in January.
Phases 3 and 4 will be offered January 6-7, 2027 at the Younes Conference Center-North in Kearney. Check back for more information.
Director Growth Forum
On January 6-7, 2027, the Director Growth Forum will be conducted at the Younes Conference Center-North in Kearney. There will be an evening Speaker on the 6th with dinner and a cocktail hour. Check back for more information.
Board Leadership Seminar
On March 1, 2027 NCC will close its 2026-27 programming year with its most popular annual offering: the Board Leadership Seminar. Participants set the agenda and topics for a freewheeling discussion of Board governance, management relationships and interacting with cooperative members. NCC President Rocky Weber and Attorney Bill Kutilek of Crosby Guenzel will facilitate and debate (when necessary) this program. Check back for more information.
